ISC Paris ISC Paris

« Research is an essential pillar of ISC Paris’ approach to generating a positive impact on our ecosystem. Through research conducted in various management disciplines, as well as in economics, sociology, and law, our faculty members contribute to the advancement of knowledge on the major issues and debates facing organizations, their stakeholders, and society as a whole. In turn, this research allows our faculty members to update their knowledge, thus ensuring that their teaching is rooted in the most advanced practices and geared toward solving the most pressing and relevant problems of the contemporary world. »

Organization

Research at ISC Paris is led by 45 professors holding doctorates in management science, economics, information and communication sciences, sociology, or law.

ISC Paris professors are organized into three academic departments based on their disciplinary field: the Marketing and Commercial Relations department, the Finance and Audit department, and the Management and Information Systems department.

Beyond this disciplinary focus, ISC Paris particularly encourages its faculty members to contribute to three priority, multidisciplinary areas of expertise: sustainable and inclusive management (SIGMA expertise), digital transformation and innovation (DIGIT expertise), and research on management teaching and learning (REALM expertise).

Finally, research at ISC Paris also draws on the doctoral work of the Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) candidates, who bring a practical and applied perspective, enriching our understanding of contemporary challenges. These candidates, who come from diverse countries and cultures, contribute to an exchange of diverse issues, strengthening the link between theory and practice in the field of management and offering diverse perspectives in a changing world.

Priority and multidisciplinary expertise

SIGMA
Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Management

At ISC, we place research at the heart of our commitment to a sustainable and inclusive future. The SIGMA expertise explores the growth dynamics that promote social and environmental equity, supporting organizations in their transition to more responsible models.

This expertise is demonstrated for instance in the research of Carole Bataillard and Hakim Akeb on the tensions and dilemmas associated with CSR, Sabine Bacouel-Jentjens on base-of-the-pyramid (BoP) markets, Jérémie Renouf on entrepreneurship for people with disabilities, and Ilyes Abid in finance on energy poverty and the implications of fossil fuel divestments on energy prices.

DIGIT
Digital Innovation, Growth, and Intelligent Transformation

ISC is at the forefront of digital innovation with its DIGIT expertise, which examines how technologies transform businesses and behaviors, to understand and anticipate the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation to shape a smart and connected future.

This expertise is demonstrated for instance in the research of Nabil Ghantous on omnichannel and artificial intelligence in franchise networks, Cédric Diridollou on the transformation of technology platform business models, Catherine Lejealle on digital consumer behavior, and Ilyes Abid on cryptocurrencies, digital finance, and NFTs.

REALM
Research and Educational Advancement for Learning in Management

Through case studies and research on innovative methodologies, ISC is committed to exploring learning dynamics in a constantly changing world, with the aim of transforming educational practices and preparing future leaders to meet contemporary challenges.

This expertise is demonstrated for instance in the research of Guillaume Flamand and Sabine Bacouel-Jentjens on experimentation and pedagogical innovation, as well as that of Nino Tandilashvili and Nabil Ghantous on the transformation of higher education and the evolving identity of higher education professors. ISC faculty also produce a significant number of case studies and teaching materials.

Three academic departments

The academic departments are at the heart of pedagogical design and program development. They draw on the expertise of ISC Paris professors and provide a link between research activities and teaching.
