What does a Business Project Manager do?

A client-side project manager is a professional whose role is to understand a client’s needs, define a solution, and document it in a set of specifications.

In practical terms, their clients are employees or teams within the company who are faced with business issues in their work. The business project manager project manager then intervenes in three stages:

  1. First, they analyse the client’s needs and propose appropriate solutions, often using IT tools or projects.
  2. They then formalize these solutions in a set of specifications (needs, objectives, constraints, budget, deadlines, etc.), which they entrust to the project manager (PM), who is responsible for carrying out the project;
  3. They ensure that the specifications are properly followed and that the project being carried out complies with what is required.

It can be said that the role of the business project manager project manager is to liaise between the client and the technical team to achieve the best solution, while respecting the constraints.
