What does a Sales Representative do?

The core business of a sales representative can be summed up in one word: selling. This expert acts as the showcase for a company, promoting its products and/or services with the aim of closing a sale.

Their role therefore revolves around three actions:

  • Prospecting, by developing and enriching a client portfolio;
  • Selling, by listening to customers’ needs in order to advise them and finalize sales;
  • Building loyalty, through good customer relations.

In this way, they help to increase a company’s turnover and market share.

The role of sales representative requires excellent interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation skills in order to offer each customer a tailored commercial proposal that is advantageous for the customer, but above all for the company.
