What does a Product Manager do?

The product manager is often compared to a ‘product CEO’. And with good reason, as this professional oversees every stage of a product’s life cycle, including:

  • Its design
  • Its production
  • Its marketing
  • Its promotion

The product manager therefore has a 360-degree view of both consumer expectations and the development of a product that will meet those expectations. On a daily basis, they collaborate with the various departments involved (development, marketing, sales, customer service, etc.).

This professional may also be called a ‘product executive’or ‘product engineer.’ Before reaching this position, it is often necessary to start your career as an assistant product manager or brand manager.
